Alert Level change good news for racing

The latest change in Alert Levels means racing in this country can continue, and it’s very nearly business as usual.

The Prime Minister has announced that from midnight (Wednesday) Auckland will go from Alert Level Three to Alert Two, with the rest of the country going from Two to One.

This means that the Auckland meeting on Friday can go ahead at Alexandra Park, with crowds limited to 100 people. Wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged where possible.

All other meetings scheduled for the next few days (Cambridge on Thursday, Addington Friday, Rangiora Saturday and Winton Sunday) can go ahead without any restrictions.

With Auckland going to Alert Level Two there will be no restriction in movements between Auckland and other parts of the country.

With Christchurch going to Level One next week’s yearling sales will be open to the public, again without restrictions, much as they were at Karaka at the weekend before the Alert Levels changed.
