ANZACs Make Presence Felt at The Big M

The famed Meadowlands track in New Jersey has had its first Saturday night meeting since the COVID-19 enforced shutdown, and the Australasian influence was quickly to the fore.

Ten-time New Zealand champion driver Dexter Dunn had four wins on the 13-race card including victory in the feature pace with Dancin Lou. Paying $16.60 it was the horse’s 13th win in 32 starts.

Dunn also joined forces with ex-pat Kiwis Chris Ryder and Kelvin Harrison for wins with Moneyman Hill (Race 4), Barrage Hanover (R2) and The Devils Own N (R7).

Harrison then won the last with Kathys Son A, driven by Australian Andrew McCarthy.

Harrison and Dunn also combined to run second with Revolver N to Gods Spirit N which won for Team Tritton. Shane and Lauren Tritton have only recently moved to the States from New South Wales. They capped off their debut weekend of racing with two wins from two starters.

With the Big M now in full swing, racing at the famed Yonkers raceway in neighbouring New York resumes this weekend.
